If you’re reading this, you’re probably tired of playing the social media game. Or you’re intimidated by it. Or you think I’m some kind of content mastermind here to share all my secrets.

Am I a (recovering) content creator with over a billion views under my belt? Yes, I am.

Did I basically get my master’s degree in the internet working at peak BuzzFeed in the mid-2010s? Also yes.

Do brands hire me to help grow their socials and 10x their following? Yep.

Am I also a creative who’s completely burned out on social media and thinks about quitting every single day? Absolutely.

If you’re struggling with social media as a creative, welcome to the club. I’m frustrated by it. You’re frustrated by it. Everyone is.

So here’s the big question:

Do you have to be on social media if you want to grow as a musician, designer, painter, filmmaker, or creative of any kind?

Unfortunately, yes.

But there are other ways to grow without burning out.

Here are seven ways I’ve learned to stay visible without losing myself, to share my work without resenting it, and to build a creative life that actually feels good to live.
